VUMA Marketplace Ltd ("VUMA", "we", "us", or "our") operates the VUMA mobile application and websites (vumastore.store and vumashop.online) (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, password
- Profile information: profile photo, delivery addresses, GPS location for deliveries
- Payment information: mobile money details processed through our licensed payment partners (we do not store your mobile money PIN)
- Seller information: business name, business documents, national ID for verified sellers
- Content you provide: product reviews, chat messages, customer support inquiries
We also automatically collect certain information when you use the Service, including device information, app usage data, and approximate location (for delivery and regional pricing purposes). When you open a product page on our website, we also collect the page you viewed and how you reached it (see section 8).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To process orders, payments, and deliveries
- To verify seller identities and prevent fraud
- To send order updates, promotional offers, and service notifications via email, SMS, and push notifications
- To provide customer support
- To improve our Service and develop new features

3. How We Share Your Information
We share your information with:
- Sellers — your name, delivery address, and phone number, so they can fulfill your orders
- Delivery partners — to complete delivery of your orders
- Payment processors (such as AzamPay and mobile money providers) — to process transactions
- Service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g. cloud hosting, SMS/email delivery)
- Advertising partners (Meta and TikTok) — limited information about visits to our product pages and, if you buy after seeing an advertisement, your hashed contact details and order value, as described in section 8
- Law enforcement or regulators, where required by law
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard encryption and access controls. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
5. Your Rights
You may:
- Access, correct, or delete your account information at any time through the app
- Opt out of promotional communications
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you by contacting us
- Request account deletion by contacting support
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Location Data
We collect GPS location data to enable accurate delivery, show nearby pickup points, and calculate delivery fees. You can disable location access in your device settings, though this may limit certain features.
8. Advertising, Cookies and Measurement
We advertise products from the VUMA marketplace on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Each advertised product has a public page on vumashop.online. When you open one of these pages, or tap an advertisement that leads to it, we collect:
- The page you viewed, the time, the advertisement or link you came from, and whether you tapped "Buy in the app" or "Install"
- Technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and cookie identifiers
- A first-party cookie named "vsid", kept for up to 90 days, which lets us count visits to our product pages without knowing who you are
We use measurement tools from Meta (the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API) and, where enabled, from TikTok (the TikTok Pixel). These tools send information about visits to our product pages, and the actions taken there, to Meta and TikTok. We use it to measure how our advertisements perform and to show them to people who may be interested. Meta and TikTok handle this information under their own privacy policies.
If you buy a product after seeing one of our advertisements, we may also send Meta or TikTok the order value, the products bought, and your email address and phone number in a one-way encrypted (hashed) form, so that we can measure the result. We do not send them your name, delivery address, payment details or messages.
Our own records of these advertising events are deleted within 30 days, and technical details such as IP addresses are removed from them once they have been sent.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use your browser's tracking protection, and change your advertising preferences in your Facebook, Instagram and TikTok accounts. If you want us to delete information we hold about you, contact us using the details in section 10.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
